Meigs County weekend

Friday, April 1:

ROCK SPRINGS — The Chester Courthouse Annual Benefit Dinner and Auction will take place at 6:30 p.m., Friday, April 1 at the Meigs High School cafeteria. The price is $15 with door prizes and other drawings. The menu is pork loin, salmon loaf, chicken and noodles, company potatoes, green bean medley, cole slaw, pickled beets, assorted breads, homemade desserts, drinks. Tickets available at Farmers Bank, Baum Lumber and Summerfield’s Restaurant. Antiques, collectibles, quilts and other items needed for auction - bring them to the dinner or drop off at the Chester Courthouse. Call 985-9822 or 985-4115.

POMEROY – Sacred Heart Church in Pomeroy will be having Lenten fish fries on Friday's 4:30 to 7 p.m. on April 1, 8, and 15. There will be adult and children dinners. Sponsored by the Knights of Columbus. Proceeds benefit local charities.

Saturday, April 2:

POMEROY — A Zumbathon benefit for Chrissy Taylor-Mulford, who is battling cancer, will take place from 4-6 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at the Mulberry Community Center.

POMEROY — Meigs County’s Christian Motorcycle Association’s yard sale / giveaway will take place from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at Common Grounds Church on Highland Ave. Donations are appreciated but not required for clothes, housewares and other miscellaneous items to those who need it regardless of their ability to pay. Any donations will go towards the CMA’s annual fundraiser “Run for the Son.”

POMEROY — The Mulberry Community Center’s Christian Variety Show for April is set for 6:30-8 p.m., Saturday, April 2 at the center. Performers include Doug Bentley, Toothpick Whittler, Stacey Jean, Truly Saved. The show is free though a love offering will be accepted to benefit Savior’s Soup, a soup kitchen/ministry of the Meigs Cooperative Parish which provides free soups, desserts and beverages to all on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Popcorn and beverages will be for sale and desserts available for a donation provided by the St. Paul Lutheran Church.

SYRACUSE — A free Christian concert will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday April 2 at the Syracuse Community Center. Performers include New Jerusalem, New Songs, John, Dolly and Brysel. Refreshments served.
