A new meat-and-three restaurant has opened at 1209 W. Poinsett St., Greer.
Vittles Tyme features a large menu of meats, including meatloaf, fried chicken, country fried steak, flounder and shrimp.
Vegetables are all made ?the old-time way? with plenty of seasoning, and desserts range from cobblers and cakes to ice cream, said Greer native Steve Ross.
Ross, who opened the business with his daughter, Terry Perez, said most of the food is cooked from scratch with recipes passed down from his grandmother.
At least five meats and 10 vegetables are available each day. Nightly specials include fish and, for a limited time, fried oysters made by Steve.
Hours are 7 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday and Wednesday, 7 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. Vittles Tyme is closed Tuesday.
Prices are reasonable ? $6.50 plus tax for meals with coffee or tea included, Ross said. Desserts start at $1.50. Take out is available. Call 877-3200.
