While there are pies and cheesecakes on the menu, opt for the Middle Eastern cookies. They have a buttery flavor and a touch of sweetness which makes them a perfect after-dinner treat with coffee.

The wreath-shaped ghoraidbeh is flavored with pistachios while the finger-shaped mamoul has soft date filling, a touch of rose water and a sprinkling of powdered sugar.

Layla Mediterranean Grill is at 4751 S. Holladay Blvd., Holladay; 801-272-9111. Monday to Friday, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m.; Monday to Saturday, 5 to 10 p.m.
