5 Powerful Tips For Low Fat Eating - Lose Weight by Cutting Out Bad Habits at Work

Taking the right approach, anyone can lose weight. These tips for low fat eating help you replace bad habits with good ones. Maybe you've simply got into a rut and need help in breaking your habits. We show how to rebalance your overall diet, boost your energy levels whilst still retaining a normal lifestyle.

1. Break the Coffee Habit

Water is crucial to the smooth functioning of your body. Without it all bodily functions become sluggish and less efficient. To function well, you need 2 litres of water a day - more if you are in an air conditioned or centrally heated office. Work on 8 glasses a day.

Coffee, tea, cola or alcohol actually dehydrates your body. You're far better saving your money and just drinking water or herbal tea.

2. Mid Morning Snack

You've got up early, been working for hours and feel hungry. Don't reach for the chocolate bar. If you eat 2 pieces of fruit 30 - 60 minutes before your lunch, it will stem the hunger and reduce your appetite at lunchtime. This can be repeated in the afternoon.

Fruit contains all the nutrients your body seeks. Furthermore it is low-fat, low-carb, low-calorie and acts as a detoxifying effect on your body helping to flush out the toxins.

If you want to be full of energy at work, eat fruit which diverts far less energy to the digestive system. More complex, processed and cooked food takes 20-30 times longer to fully digest than raw fruit and vegetables.

3. What to Have for Lunch

Lunch needs to be easy, quick and tasty. Try to cut out processed foods from your lunchtime menu. They aren't low fat and sap energy in the digestion process.

Here are a few ideas:

Rye Bread with low fat cheese - the rye is very filling making it an excellent choice for those who feel hungry all the time as it provides a slow release of energy to stave off food cravings during the afternoon.
Bananas with nuts and seeds - the banana releases energy more slowly than other fruit but is still low fat. Mixed with sunflower, sesame and pumpkin seeds, it makes for a tasty snack.

4. Look Forward to the Evening Meal

Try to avoid using foods which have undergone processing such as ready meals. Make the evening meal something you look forward to coming home to. Use vegetables as much as possible and steam them. Be aware that cooking food above 118 degrees kills off the goodness and nutrients.

Invest in a juicer and blend several fruits together to make a delicious flavoured drink. Bio yogurt is a great food for dessert when mixed with fruit and nuts.

5. Start Off One Day a Week or One Meal a Day

Don't try to conquer the world in a day. Initially try going low fat one day a week or one meal a day. For that meal or day, cut out everything bad. You will feel better for it and want to extend it to two days or two meals. Build it up until you've fully eliminated all the bad habits in your life.
