Pies got the royal seal of approval when the Duchess of Cornwall joined the baking at Duchy Desserts in Cornwall.
Camilla, wearing a white overall and trilby hat, was shown around the factory which produces desserts for the Duchy Originals from Waitrose brand launched in conjunction with her husband, the Prince of Wales.
During her visit to the factory near Launceston, the Duchess helped to make a Duchy Original apple pie and put a crest on the top of six different pies.
She?also tasted a lemon tart and a Cambridge burnt cream - an English creme brulee - while viewing the production process for a range of desserts.
The Duchess later tucked into a brownie made by pupils when she officially opened a brand new £8 million primary school which includes a Sure Start children's centre and nursery.
Children, staff and parents at Camelford Primary School gave the Duchess a warm welcome as she toured the eight classrooms, an area for children with severe and complex needs and the nursery facilities.
Camilla - who is used to playing with her own grandchildren - joined pupils as they drew pictures, had a pretend afternoon tea and floated pine cones down a piece of guttering.
Teaching assistant Karen Gregory said: "It's very exciting having her here, it's really nice and all the children have been very excited all through the school.
Camilla later said: "I particularly liked the brownies and I'm very much hoping to have another bit on the helicopter ride home."
