MERIDEN, CT (WVIT/NBC) - Every spray, swirl and sprinkle that goes onto one of Ally Lewis and Aislinn Quinn's cupcakes helps other kids at Connecticut Children's Medical Center.
At birth, Ally spent four months in the hospital and still has regular checkups for hearing problems and other issues.
Ally wanted to help people like her, so she and her best friend and fellow baker Aislinn started decoraing. They go door to door in their neighborhood, selling their cupcakes to raise money to buy toys for CCMC patients.
"We are going to get toys that we know kids will love - that we loved," Aislinn said. "So we're going to get toys for boys and girls and toys that will last a long time."
They have gotten nothing but positive feedback from neighbors.
"[I'm] very proud that they are in this neighborhood and they do such a good thing; their cause is really worthwhile," neighbor Debbie Granger said.
But the girls' satisfaction is really the sweetest part of these cupcakes.
"It makes me feel good inside and happy, and I'm glad I'm doing this, and I feel very thankful too." Ally said.
