Team facts: Borleske Stadium, home of the Sweets, was built in 1926 and is celebrating its 85th anniversary this summer. Baseball in Walla Walla pre-dates the stadium, beginning with the catchy Walla Walla Walla Wallas of the Pacific Interstate League in 1891. The community had a team in the Inland Empire ‘D' League in 1908, competed in the Western Tri-State ‘D' League during 1912-14, and held membership in the Northwest League, a short-season ‘A' league during 1969-83. Former Major League infielder Jeff Cirillo is part of the Sweets' ownership team, serving as Director of Player Development.

Top players: Jacob Overbay, a W.F. West High grad and younger brother of Major League first baseman Lyle Overbay, returns for his second season with the Sweets after transferring to the University of Nevada-Reno. Catcher Elliot Stewart (Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo) returns after earning all-West Coast League second-team honors while hitting .321 last season. UCLA freshman Brenton Allen was a ninth round pick of the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2010 Major League Baseball draft, and will be joined in the outfield by sophomore Brett Jacobs from Washington State University. Ex-Lower Columbia College pitcher Tim Culligan (Nevada-Reno) and Vancouver's Sean Santschi (Gonzaga) will battle for innings on the mound.
